King Stadium
King Stadium, located directly behind the Merillat Complex, is home to the soccer and track and field programs. In 2012, the complex was named after long-time coach Tom King whose leadership over the Huntington cross country and track and field programs spanned more than four decades.
The soccer field is a natural grass surface made up of a blend of Kentucky bluegrass and ryegrass. The soccer facility features a state-of-the art press box, added in the summer of 2022, as well as a pair of dugouts renovated in 2012. Lights were added in the summer of 2023. Northeast of the stadium lies a practice soccer field.
The eight-lane, 400-meter competition track was resurfaced in 2012. The complex includes discuss, shot put and hammer throw cages, high jump zone and pole vaulting facilities, a long jump pit, and a javelin event area. In addition to hosting home meets, the stadium has served as the site for the USATF Junior Olympics Regional Meet.
The stadium also features the Christine Geiss Plaza. In 2016, the plaza was renovated to honor the memory of Christine Geiss, avid HU soccer fan, devoted wife to David and loving mother to Kyle Geiss (HU Class of 2014) and Tessy Geiss (HU Class of 2019).
