Volleyball claims Academic Excellence Award
HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Each year an Academic Excellence Award is given to the Huntington athletic team with the highest team grade point average for the year. This year the women's volleyball team claimed the top spot for 2023-24 with a team GPA of 3.628. Coach Kelsey Herber's squad dethroned a women's cross country program that had earned this designation for four consecutive years.
"Congratulations to our exceptional student-athletes on their remarkable academic achievements again this year," said HU athletic director Lori Culler. "With 17 of our teams tallying a 3.0 or higher GPA and each program posting a 2.8 or better, our student-athletes continue to demonstrate outstanding success in balancing the rigors of their academic programs with the demands of participating in sports.
"Their commitment to excellence is a tremendous example to their peers. Well done Forester STUDENT-athletes!"
