Bio

Beth Herrell, MS, ATC, LAT, CSCS, is an athletic trainer contracted through Parkview Sports Medicine (PSM). She has worked at Huntington University since the fall of 2004. Her primary sport assignments include women’s soccer, men’s basketball and softball. 

Herrell currently serves as a Care Navigator Supervisor of athletic trainers with Parkview Sport Medicine. Prior to becoming a supervisor, she served as a Team Lead for PSM and the Head Athletic Trainer at Huntington University.

Before coming to Huntington University, Herrell held various positions at Orthopaedics Northeast (ONE). She was the team leader for Performance ONE, as well as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for IPFW athletics. She also worked in the performance enhancement division where she served as an outreach certified athletic trainer for six area high schools. 

Herrell’s resume also includes serving an assistant athletic trainer at IPFW which included traveling with the men’s volleyball team. Additionally, she was an assistant athletic trainer at Huntington North High School and served as the Head Athletic Trainer at the University of Saint Francis.

Herrell graduated from Vincennes University in 1989 with an AS in Physical Education with an option in Athletic Training. She went on to graduate from Indiana State University in 1992 with a BS in Physical Education with a specialization in Athletic Training.  She also holds a MS in Athletic Training from Indiana Wesleyan University which she earned in 2015. She currently holds a K-12 Physical Education teaching license and has an American Heart Association CPR Instructor certification.

In 1991, while at Indiana State, Herrell received the Mel Blickenstaff Outstanding Senior Athletic Trainer Award. She also received the Outstanding Alumni Award in 1994 from Vincennes University for the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department. In 2000, she received a special commendation from the City of Huntington Office of the Mayor for life saving efforts. 

In her spare time, Herrell enjoys golf, playing the drums with her church worship team and spending time with her husband Terry and three boys Jacob, Luke and Zack.
