Foresters win 84-68 over UNOH in the Garage

LIMA, Ohio – The #RV Huntington men's basketball team took care of business Wednesday night at the Garage by disposing of UNOH 84-68. With this win, the Foresters improve to 9-2 on the season while the Racers drop to 3-7.

UNOH scored on their opening possession which proved the only time HU trailed. Zach Goodline drained a three at the other end ten seconds later, his first of two in the opening four minutes, to give his team a lead that stuck.

While it took ten minutes after that for the guests to build their first ten-point advantage of 31-21 with five minutes left in the period, it was obvious the Foresters were in control the rest of the night.

It was 42-27 at halftime after which HU ballooned it to 18 on several occasions before the Racers made one final push to trim it to just nine at 68-59 with eight minutes to go. Huntington's answer came by way of a Joel Dyer three which ignited a 14-3 run that saw the lead finally escalate to 20 at 82-62 with four minutes to go.

Mitchell Wilson scored the last seven points of the run which included a pair of treys. The junior guard finished with nine points for the game. Goodline posted 19 points to go along with a game-best six assists. Lane Sparks filled the stat sheet with 16 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Ben Humrichous also tossed in 16 points to go along with four assists, three rebounds, three blocks and two steals.

Hank Pulver added 11 points and nine boards. Dyer ended up with three three-pointers for nine points in addition to nabbing five boards and two steals while dishing out two assists.

Biggz Johnson poured in 19 points for UNOH to share game-high scoring honors with Goodline. The Racers' only other double-digit scorer was Cam Miles with 16 points.

The Foresters return to Platt Arena on Saturday to host #6 Marian at 3:00 p.m.
