Bio
Mike Shockey returns for his ninth year as the head coach of the Forester bowling program. Prior to taking over the HU reins, he served as an assistant in the program for three years.
Shockey guided the HU women to the NAIA's inaugral National Championships in 2021. During his head coaching tenure, his players have earned three All-American praises, 20 All-Conference honors, which includes Amber Elliott who was named the 2020 Newcomer of the Year and the 2023 Bowler of the Year, and 20 NAIA Scholar Athlete accolades.
Shockey brings over a decade of coaching and bowling experience to the position. In addition to giving individual lessons, the Fort Wayne native was a PBA member and competed in the PBA regional tour. He has also been on the regional/recon ball staff for Ebonite and Motiv Bowling.
Shockey earned his AS in Bowling Lanes Management from Vincennes University in 1997. As a member of the Blazer bowling team, he was the Collegiate Masters champion and the NJCAA team, singles and All-Events champion. He also racked numerous other honors including the IBC Linds award and a handful of All-Tournament Team honors.
Shockey resides in Fort Wayne with his wife Heather and kids Caitlin and Kendall.
