Bio

Rick Sholund returns to Huntington as an assistant coach for the men’s golf program. No stranger to campus, he spent six years as the Forester men’s head coach which included serving as the women’s head coach for four of those years.

Sholund brings a variety of experiences to the position both as a player and instructor. He currently serves as the owner/general manager at Eagle Glen Golf Club in Columbia City (Ind.).

Additionally, Sholund was the owner and lead instructor of Praxis Performance Coaching where he provided golf instruction and training. He also brings three years of experience as a former director of operations at an area golf facility.

Sholund spent ten years as professional golfer. His accomplishments as a pro include finishing seventh in the Indiana State Open in 1998 and third in 1999. He also qualified for the Nike Tour St. Louis Classic in 1998 and competed in the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament from 2000-2002. He played on the Dakotas Tour and in several NGA Pro Golf Tour events as well as many other mini-tours.

Rick is a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified Level 2 Power Coach and certified Level 2 Junior Coach with a FMS certification in movement. He also holds a Level 1 certification in K-Vest 3D Technologies.
