Lawrence Tech blanks Huntington

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – On the road for their fourth straight match, the HU men's soccer team came up short against Lawrence Tech Saturday evening 3-0 at Blue Devils Stadium to drop to 3-3-3 on the year.

It was business as usual for the hosts. The Blue Devils, who average just under three goals per night, scored twice in the first half and then added an insurance goal after intermission. It's their third shutout, all against Crossroads League teams, as they move to 6-1 on the year.

While Huntington got off ten shots to LTU's 11, the guests were never on target while the hosts finished with five on frame.

"Lawrence Tech is a quality side, organized and very well coached," said Coach Russ Lawson. "They punished us on a couple of restarts and that changed the trajectory of the game. The boys will be better next time out, I am confident of that."

Tonight marked HU's last non-conference match of the season as next Saturday is their league opener at Goshen with kick-off at 7:00 p.m.
