
Collins tabbed CL Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Senior Zach Collins continues to impress this indoor season having picked up a pair of first place finishes at the Saginaw Valley Jet's Pizza Invitational over the weekend to be designated this week's Crossroads League Men's Track Athlete of the Week as announced earlier this afternoon.
Collins topped the field of 75 sprinters in the 200 meters by clocking in at 21.26. He also brought home top honors in the 400 meters with his time of 47.86 among a field of 44 competitors. Both times proved A standards.
The Lakewood Park Christian product is currently sitting fifth in the NAIA in the 200 and seventh in the 400. The speedster also holds both Huntington program records with his PR-times of 21.17 (200m) and 47.73 (400m).
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 160 NAIA All-America honors and 567 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
