Trip to MVNU sends HU home with 3-0 loss

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – A 3-0 loss to Mount Vernon Saturday evening at CH4 Stadium leaves the HU women's soccer team still on the prowl for their first league win as they drop to 2-9-1 overall which includes a 0-3 record in CL action. Last year's meeting between these two squads ended in a 2-2 stalemate.

MVNU scored in the opening four minutes to force their guests to chase them the rest of the way. While Huntington took ten shots, four on frame, the Cougars were busy at the other end ripping off 24 shots, nine on target, on the way to burying two more back netting after their early goal for the 3-0 final.

Paige Weiss fired off three shots while Claire Whipple and Reagan Sanderson finished with two apiece.

"We had a few lapses against a good team and that hurt us," said Coach David Lewis. "We had moments when we moved the ball well. We just need consistency.

"Now we have a week before Homecoming to heal and prepare."

HU has a weeklong break before hosting #20 Grace on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
