Bethel hands HU 4-0 loss on Senior Day

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Pilots of Bethel played spoiler to the HU women's soccer team's Senior Day Saturday afternoon at King Stadium by handing their hosts a 4-0 loss.

While shots were fairly close, favoring the guests 17-12, Bethel was able to convert four of their 14 shots on goal into points on the board. Unfortunately, Lewis and crew weren't able to find back netting on any of their four shots on target.

Paige Weiss finished with five shots to pace Huntington's offense.

"Bethel has a good squad, and we weren't at our best today," said Coach David Lewis. "The seniors/graduate student gave a good effort. Unfortunately, we lost Alex Bryant to injury late in the game. Our prayers are with her."

Prior to kick-off, the Foresters celebrated seniors Alex Bryant, Sydney Gile, Sandra Haraguchi and Riley Voss.

Next up for HU (2-13-1, 0-7) is a trip to Fort Wayne on Wednesday to face Saint Francis at 7:00 p.m.
