Huntington plays to a 0-0 stalemate with Anderson

Huntington, Ind. – The HU women's soccer team played to a 0-0 stalemate against Anderson University Saturday afternoon at King Stadium. With this tie, the Foresters move to 3-1-1 on the year.

It's the third time this year Coach Lewis' squad has held their opponent scoreless. Over the last four matches, which equates to 360 minutes, HU has given up just one goal.

While the hosts kept the ball on their offensive half of the field more often than not, they could never get their payoff. As a team, HU fired off ten shots, eight at the foot of Sophie Shepherd, with seven on frame while limiting the Ravens to just one shot on target, four total.

Ireland Aerni earned the shutout in goal. She finished the afternoon with just one save.

Today's outing was the start of a three-game homestand for the Foresters. Next up is a clash with another D3 school in Manchester on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 160 NAIA All-America honors and 567 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations.
