Huntington, Ind. – Up against the Taylor Trojans (7-3-2, 4-1), a squad receiving votes in the latest NAIA national poll, the HU women's soccer team fell victim to their guests 2-0 Saturday afternoon at King Stadium.
The Trojans got on the board ten minutes before halftime and then added an insurance goal on a corner kick with just over twenty minutes remaining. The clean sheet is TU's fifth of the season which includes a 1-0 shutout over #10 Marian earlier this month.
While the Foresters didn't get many looks over the course of the contest, their best opportunity was a blast by Sophie Shepherd at the 58:17 mark that clanked off the crossbar that would have knotted things up had it found back netting. The sophomore forward finished with three of HU's four shots on the afternoon.
Ireland Aerni was charged with the loss in goal having given up both goals while tracking down seven saves.
With this loss, Huntington drops to 5-4-4 which includes a CL record of 0-3-2. The Foresters hit the road for Mount Vernon on Wednesday with kick-off slated for 7:00 p.m.
